New Year’s Eve in Miami: The Best Places to Celebrate, Watch Fireworks & Ring in 2027

There are few places in the world that celebrate New Year’s Eve like Miami. Warm nights, ocean breezes, fireworks over the water, live music on the beach, and parties that go until sunrise. This year New Year’s Eve falls on Thursday, December 31, 2026, and the city is getting ready to ring in 2027.

Whether you want a free family night on the sand, a rooftop with skyline views, or a party in Miami’s most creative neighborhood, here are some of the best places to celebrate New Year’s Eve in Miami.

Bayfront Park & Downtown Miami

Downtown Miami’s countdown on Biscayne Bay is one of the city’s biggest New Year’s Eve traditions, with Bayfront Park hosting a countdown celebration and midnight fireworks over the water in past years. Details for December 31, 2026, had not been announced at the time of writing, so check Bayfront Park’s events page for this year’s plans.

Rooftop Fireworks at InterContinental Miami

For a front-row view of the bay, InterContinental Miami hosts a New Year’s Eve VIP Rooftop Fireworks Viewing on its Seaside Terrace from 10 PM to 1 AM. The ticket includes tapas-style bites, desserts, two cocktails, a live DJ, and a midnight Champagne toast with traditional New Year’s grapes. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and guests under 21 receive non-alcoholic drinks.

Orchestra Miami on 21st Street Beach

One of the best free New Year’s Eve events in the city happens right on the sand. Orchestra Miami presents its free, family-friendly New Year’s Eve Celebration on 21st Street Beach in Miami Beach, between 21st and 22nd Streets, east of Collins Avenue. The Orchestra Miami String Quartet starts at 8 PM, the full orchestra takes the stage with Miami electronic duo AfroBeta at 10 PM, and the night ends with fireworks at midnight sponsored by the City of Miami Beach. Bring a beach chair or blanket and a picnic, leave pets and glass at home, and arrive early to find a spot. The organizers recommend it for ages 8 and up.

South Beach & Ocean Drive

Ocean Drive is the heart of South Beach on New Year’s Eve, with crowds, music, and outdoor restaurants all along Lummus Park. In 2025, the City of Miami Beach and the Ocean Drive Association presented fireworks from the Lummus Park beachfront just before midnight. The city had not yet published its 2026 plans when this post was written, so check the City of Miami Beach website for this year’s fireworks, street closures, and trolley information.

Lettuce at the Miami Beach Bandshell

Music lovers can dance into 2027 at the Miami Beach Bandshell in North Beach, where the funk band Lettuce plays a two-night New Year’s run on December 31 and January 1. Tickets are available for each night or as a two-night pass.

Wynwood

Wynwood brings its own creative energy to New Year’s Eve, with open-air venues and bars hosting ticketed countdown parties. Oasis Wynwood’s December 31 party, for example, was already listed as sold out in October, so if Wynwood is your plan, check listings and buy tickets early.

Families & Early Celebrations

Not everyone wants to stay up until midnight. The free Orchestra Miami beach concert is a great family option, and the Miami Children’s Museum has hosted a Noon Year’s Eve celebration for kids in past years. Check their website for this year’s plans.

A few local tips: book dinner reservations and tickets early, plan your ride home before the night starts, and expect heavy traffic near the beaches and downtown. Miami nights in late December can get breezy by the water, so a light layer is a good idea.

Start Your Celebration on Calle Ocho

New Year’s Eve is also a great day to explore the city before the party begins. In many Latin households in Miami, the night is full of traditions, like eating twelve grapes at midnight for good luck in each month of the new year. Spend the afternoon tasting Cuban coffee, croquetas, and Cuban sandwiches in Little Havana, walk the Art Deco streets of South Beach before heading to Ocean Drive, or see Wynwood’s murals by daylight before the countdown.

Our Little Havana tour runs daily at 11 AM and 3 PM, and our Wynwood and South Beach tours are private and scheduled around your plans. Check the booking calendar for holiday availability, and remember that you can cancel for free up to 24 hours before your tour.

End the year with the flavors of Miami. Book your Little Havana Food, Art & Culture Experience online and discover Calle Ocho like a local.
